Painted Window depicting Two Saxon Earls of Mercia and Seven Norman Earls of Chester, England, UK
Unknown, architect(s). From the American Architect and Building News, 1845. 9.75 by 14 inches. VG+ condition. Some tattering along the edges of the plate. Light foxing.
Hand-colored Original Plan. This picture is extremely hard to find, as Old England: A Pictorial Museum of Regal, Ecclesiastical, Baronial, Munipal, and Popular Antiquities not only had a very small circulation during that time, but very few were actually preserved. The hand-coloring was done at the time of the printing. It measures 9.75 by 14 inches. Has a mat border and foam core backing (not attached to the picture). The whole plan measures 20 by 16 inches (with mat border). Finely detailed and beautifully hand-colored. Shrink wrapped.
